The El Dorado Hills Community District is moving forward with the development of a new community park after acquiring a portion of a soon-to-be-developed residential neighborhood.

Following months of community dialogue, the El Dorado Hills Community District is planning for a 50-plus acre plot of land packed with amenities. Local leaders envision a large community center, aquatic park, multiple sports fields, events center and more.

The master plan survey also revealed the community’s desire for sports fields for lacrosse, baseball and soccer.

In selecting the amenities and scope of the project, regional planners recognized the importance of the balance between the development of parks and preserving the open space. The future park builds on the development of new recreational space south of Highway 50.

The El Dorado Hills Community District currently manages 535 acres of parks and open space.

The new park will grow alongside a new community development of 600 homes. The housing project remains under environmental review.
